Step by step

  1. Run the engine for a few minutes about 1,000 rpm to allow the engine some time to cool. Manuevering into the slip can provide enough time.
  2. Pull the engine stop button and hold extended till engine stops fully. Releasing the stop button early may allow the engine to restart.
  3. Close exhaust valve located in starboard side of the aft lazarette.
  4. Close the fuel petcock located at forward end of starboard cockpit locker.
  5. Remove the key from the ignition switch.
  6. Close the raw cooling water valve located in engine compartment just aft the salon floor.
  7. Hang the engine ignition key (and restroom key) on a yellow float keychain hanging on the engine raw cooling water intake valve.
  8. Turn the main battery switch (large black rotary switch) to "OFF" the starting battery.
