Headed out quickly. No messing about.

Close reach out to the area of "A", then threw in a couple tacks to assess how closehauled performance may have changed after tightening jib halyard. Wound halyard three times around the mast winch and tighted the halyard by hand, then cleated while still on the winch. Tighter halyard than before. Had been told, if I remember correctly, that the foil of a roller furler obviates the need to tighten the jib halyard. Perhaps I an misremembering.

The additional jib halyard tension appears to have helped with pointing. Appears to be tacking through 115 degrees in place of 120 degrees previously. Needs Confirmation

Headed for Tolly Point shoal, then skirted the shoal out to "1AH". Continued on till about a third of a nautical mile shy of the shipping channel, close reaching with good speed the whole way. About 19:30 reversed course and turned on navigation lights somewhat later. Had to tap the bi-color bow light to get it to come on. Need to look into this. The bi-color was affected by the hard docking on 22 August . Hardly anyone out; nearly had the Bay to ourselves. Remarkably quiet evening sail. While on the way back in, heard a new sound on the boat. Hank though it static from the VHF. I, of course, first thought of water entering the boat. Went down below to investigate. The closer to the bow, the stronger the sound. From standing in the v-berth, decided that the sound is that water flowing over the cutwater and hull. Never heard that before. Night sails can be magical.

The wind and depth instruments have subdued backlighting. Did not know that. The GPSMAP 192C is way to bright. Didn't see how to dim the unit. Thank goodness, it can be dimmed via the "POWER" button. Press and release to bring up the adjustment slider. Press the "POWER" button again to activate the user-defined level of backlighting. Use the rocker to brighten or dim the display. Use the "ENTER" or "QUIT" button when done.

Found Horn Point lighted buoy after looking for it deliberately. Off the starboard bow was a quick flashing red light. Did not investigate. Don't see such a lighted buoy indicated on the charts.

Nailed the entry into the slip. Just beautiful.
