When sailing last time, the topmost slider popped off the mailsail track, more than once. Need to figure out why. In doing so noted down a number of measurements regarding the mail.
Addressed the problem of the topmost slider popping off the mailsail track by compressing the ears of the slider in the fore and aft direction. Prior attempts to address the problem by compressing the slider in the athwartships direction did not work. Need to apply a dry lubricant to the mainsail track. Just does not move as easily as one would wish.
Removed a synthetic material cleat from the port side of the aft section of boom, about where the first reef cringle falls. The cleat would grap the leech line of the mailsail. The cleats location is useless for reefing the main, unless one is reefing at the outset or had turned into the wind to reef.
Marked the main halyard with a Sharpie that the approximate points for first reef and full hoist. Need to place a whipping on the halyard, as well as the docklines, at the indicated positions using red whipping twine.
