Masked, actone treated, and filled the reliefs in the aft lazarette hatch using black SIS 440 from Teakdecking Systems . This is one of two methods recommended. The other is to forego the masking and remove the excess by sanding. After the material is laid in place, the recommendation is to remove the excess by drawing an flexible putty knife over the joint. The material is quite thick and drags along with the knife, appearing to leave a bit of a depression in the surface. This happened on the first couple reliefs. On the later reliefs, deliberately left extra matrial, did not press the putty knife down hard enough to remove the excess, and so reduced the effect.
We'll see how it looks after fully drying and sanding.
