- Picked up the new 135LP genoa from Bacons
.
- Intended to fiberglass bilge but yesterday's heavy rains saturated the bilge and left standing water. Need the bilge to dry before glass'ing it closed.
- Used the Stinger Wet-Dry Vac
to remove rainwater from the bilge.
- Replenished batteries with distilled water.
- Began charging batteries.
- While sanding the hull last week, found a layer of loose fiberglass on the underside of the keel forefoot. The layer appeared to be made up of two layers of glass cloth. Found bottom paint on the side of the loose layer towards the hull. Appears that the glass was applied without sanding off the bottom paint to reveal fiberglass for the new layers to adhere. Pryed off the loose glass, about two 3"x5" index card size pieces. Sanded the hull down. Applied to layers of 1708
to the port side as the underside of the keel from the midline seam to starboard is about 1/8" deeper in the water than the port side. The two layers of 1708 evened up the bottom of the keel forefoot. Covered the two layers of 1708 with 10oz glass cloth providing generous overlaps in all directions.
- Installed the aft mooring cleats with butyl tape.
- Began putting items away in preparation for launch. Secured the head in the v-berth cutout using boat cushions to keep it from tipping or being knocked around.
- Verified all lights and electronics but for the anchor light.
- Rove the boomvang.
- Rove the mainsheet.
- Brought the head door home.
