Log of Alberg 30 #262 on 12 June 2020

Date: 12 June 2020 10:00 till 12 June 2020 15:00
Endpoints: Yacht Haven Annapolis to Yacht Haven Annapolis
Purpose: Various Tasks
Complement: Yoni Bresler
Weather: Mid 80s, light breezes.

  • Adjusted upper shrouds to raise the tension from 20 to 29/30 on the Loos gauge. Took three half turns. (See Standing Rigging)
  • Found that the control wire from the Rule bilge pump switch to the pump had come loose. This is why the bilge pump was not functioning automatically.
  • Bought an Albin Pump Marine Bilge Pump Heavy Duty 2250 GPH 12V and Digital Bilge Switch from L&B Marine in Stevensville. Only place that had any in stock or were able to order any for immediate pickup.
  • Stopped by Anchors & Oars in Grasonville. Found two Harken 29 mm Cheek Bullet Block for the traveler, to route the line into the cam cleats, $4 each. And a copy of Practical Junk Rig by H. G. Hasler for $8.
  • Tried to stop at Pasco Battery for a DC31-HD group size 31 house battery. Pasco appears to be a victim of COVID-19, similar to APS, Ltd.
  • Added a gallon of diesel to the tank along with Biobor JF and StarTron. Now at the top of the tie down indents.
  • Perhaps the solution for the backstay is a toggle and toggle turnbuckle connecting the Ronstan RF-718 adjuster to the chainplate so that the wheel of the adjuster is above the front of the aft lazarette when opened.
