Sails: Interrupt mainsail and new 135P genoa

Lots of Opti's and C420's sailing in today's good conditions. Motored out to Triton Point before raising sail.

Anemometer reading 17 and 18 often despite Annapolis Weather Buoy AN reporting winds of 12 to 14 knots. Increased apparent wind due to the boat's speed through the water. Averaged 6.1kts, a new record. Well developed waves causing the boat to pitch upwind and to try to yaw sharply downwind. Steered to counter the downwind yaw. Upwind tried to bear off and head up to lessen the effect of the waves.

Tried to keep the boat at 40* apparent on the upwind legs, tacking down the Severn. Most successful on the final upwind board out into the Bay.

Good bit of wind. Boat well heeled over, excessively at times to too often. The backstay was set to 2.5, tensioning to 3 might have been more appropriate.

Sailed fast. Matched and at times exceeded the polars, assuming that the anemometer is accurate as to apparent wind angle.
