Sails: Interrupt mainsail, 135 genoa.
Little wind in Spa Creek. Wind made itself felt as we approached Horn Point.
Sailed out past Y"A", catching and passing a Jenneau (35'?) between R"4" and Y"A". Match the course of the Jenneau as she headed for the Bay Bridge with the apparent wind abeam. Opened distance on the Jenneau the entire time till we must have been 600 to 1,000 yards ahead. Past two barges moored to temporary moorings off Hackett Point. The three barges appeared to have sections of roadway aboard...perhaps from the fallen Key Bridge.
Turned round short of the Bay Bridge onto the wind, now apparent at 60* and closer to the wind, 40*, once past the lee side of the barges. Caught up to a Beneteau Oceanis 38.1 short of Y"A". Passed between her and R"4".
Very nice sail in unexpected good conditions.
