Sails: Interrupt mainsail, 135 genoa.
Given the good breezes and having Aaron aboard, decided to sail with a single reef in the main. Good decision. With the 135LP and the single reef, the boat was always under control and comfortable despite gusts to 21kts. Gust hits, boat begins to heel further, round up a bit to ease the pressure and to gain distance to windward. Have become quite comfortable sailing in these conditions.
Word from my wife is that she really enjoyed the sail: "much better than just sailing along with 5 to 10kts of breeze". Unsolicited comment. Several times, unprompted, she expressed how much she enjoyed the sail.
