Course: B3.
Sails: Elliott/Pattison Sailmakers 169LP genoa and Interrupt main. Backstay at 3.

Good start just above a J/24(?) and below White Cap. Argo further to leeward. Should have been sailing course of ~125* rather than ~95*. Due to being higher, could have been shut out at the start.

Bit of trouble getting the boat moving after the start, by the time we settled in and were moving well, we had fallen below Argo's line and behind. Need to consider using the Doyle mainsail in place of the Interrupt main. The Interrupt main may be too blown out to be useful at this point.

Tacked to port as we approached R"4". Took the port tack as far as possible/comfortable before tacking to starboard despite being a bit below Mark "A". Range connecting G"1E" and R"2E" marks the limit for port tack approaching Bembe Beach. May be possible to go a bit further but risk increases markedly. Lifted about 10*, which enabled us to fetch the mark.

Fast broad reach to Mark "B" with the wind veering as further south along the length of the leg. Suggests the wind was bending around Tolly Point as it moved up the Bay and into river, suggesting we would be lifted on port tack from Mark "B" to Mark "E" provided that the port tack was deep enough into the Severn River.

Tried the idea of the wind bending around Tolly Point by heading out into the Bay before tacking to port. While on port experienced a lift of 10* to 15*. Rounded Mark "E" well behind Argo and well ahead of Rinn Duin.

Broad reach to R"4" becoming a run to R"8". Hardened up to head for G"1SC".

Due to shifting winds in Spa Creek, ended up having to pass through the mooring field while Argo was able to sail above the moored boats. After tacking onto starboard, while in line with Ego Alley, headed again and forced below two boats in the mooring field. Headed again after tacking back onto port but able to make it past the pilings to the finish.

Finishing order: 247, 262, 272. Did not compete: 550.
