- Connected the Renogy 16BB N-Type 100 Watt Solar Panel
to the wiring and SmartSolar
installed on 2025-05-12. Did not do so at that time because we were leaving for Israel for nearly two weeks. I would not be able to check on the panel, charger, wiring, or how the panel was secured while out of the country.
- Secured the solar panel to the staples left over after the hasps to secure the cockpit lockers were removed before we acquired Constance.
- After install...no solar charging. Discovered that the ground wire from the solar panel had come loose from the charger. Stripped a bit more of the wire and reconnected it.
- Saw as much as 33W being produced by the panel.
Note: In the "Trends", "1 hour 30 minutes" duration image below, the period of charging showing more than 13.6V occurred while motoring back to the dock after sailing before connecting the solar panel to the charger.
