2017 Winterization

• Electrical:
  • Fill batteries with distilled water. 2017-11-14
  • Charge batteries fully. 2017-11-14
• Engine:
  • Filled diesel 2017-09-28 and filled again 2017-12-12 to the top with three gallons of diesel.
  • Changed engine oil (Shell Rotella T 15W40, 2 quarts) and filter (Yanmar) 2017-11-09
  • Changed transmission oil (SAE 30, about 1/3 quart) 2017-11-09
  • Propylene glycol run through heat exchanger and allowed to flow out into bilge. 2017-11-29, 2017-11-14 and 2017-11-09
  • Raw water strainer and basket cleaned and removed from engine to prevent the propylene glycol from damaging the plastic 2017-12-05, 2017-11-29 and 2017-11-21
  • Two raw water pump bolts (12mm heads) removed, greased, and replaced loosely. 2017-12-12
  • Raw water pump impeller removed from pump and tied to pump body. 2017-12-12
  • Fan belts removed and placed salon forward bulkhead locker port side. 2017-12-12
• General:
  • Vacuumed all water out of bilge 2017-11-09
  • Lightly washed deck 2017-12-05
  • Hung a packet of Damp Away II in v-berth.
• Head:
  • Pumped out holding tank, pumped raw water into holding tank, pumped out again. 2017-11-02
• Sails:
  • Replaced spinnaker halyard with green 2mm halyard leader 2017-10-31
  • Replaced spinnaker topping lift with green 2mm halyard leader 2017-10-31
  • Removed jib and mainsail 2017-12-05
  • Replaced jib halyard with black 2mm halyard leader 2017-12-05
  • Removed jib sheets, jib sheet blocks, mainsheet, main reefing line, main reefing lines blocks, and vang. 2017-12-05
  • Jib sheets and blocks stored with jib. Mainsheet, main reefing line, main reefing lines blocks, and vang hung from port side rail in cabin.
  • Replaced main halyard with red 2mm halyard leader 2017-12-12
  • Removed sails. 2017-12-12 and 2017-12-05
  • Tied down jib furler upper swivel so that it can't be sky'ed. 2017-12-05
