- Loaded the practice genoa (170LP from Interrupt) and EP Sails spinnaker into the v-berth.
- Tried dry sanding (longboarding) the primer. No good. The primer is soft enough or insufficiently cured enough that the sanding dust builds up and packs into the grit of the sandpaper.
- Sanded most of the starboard side before abandoning the attempt to dry sand.
- Wet sanded the starboard bow and the port side. Light sanding to meet the requirement of sanding with 80 grit before applying Trinidad Pro
.
- Wet sanded the staboard and port bow trying to achieve real smoothness and fairness. Not satisfied. The Petit Protect
appears to have created a significanly less fair surface than was the case before application. See detail photos below.
- Washed the hull using a ScotchBrite pad to remove the wet sanding residue...its a mud that sticks to the hull.
-
- Gray primer is peeking through the white at various locations. Some other areas appear much less white due to the thinness of the white primer coat that remains covering the grey after today's longboarding.
- More longboarding is needed...just have to remove more material to knock the high areas down to the level of the low areas.
Focus on the larger flaw located directly above the bow jackstand about two-thirds of the way up towards the waterline. Compare with the same spot on 2022-04-11 and 2022-04-12.
