- Wet sanded the port and starboard from somewhat aft the knotmeter and the head intake to the cockpit scuppers to remove nearly all the grouped flaws show in yesterday's entry. About one and one-half hours of work.
- Washed the hull using a ScotchBrite pad to remove the wet sanding residue...its a mud that sticks to the hull.
- Applied the first coat of Trinidad Pro
to the hull. Took somewhat less than one-half gallon. "Pushed the paint" as recommended by Lanny Helms. Started about 1215. Done by 1345. Seems that Trinidad Pro
is the thinnest paint that I have used in terms of the thickness of the coating on the hull. Nonetheless the datasheet for PCA Gold
specifies 2mil/coat dry film thickness, same as the datasheet for Trinidad Pro
.
- Used a Linzer
Pro Edge microfiber 1/4" roller cover. Worked well.
Focus on the larger flaw located directly above the bow jackstand about two-thirds of the way up towards the waterline. Compare with the same spot on 2022-04-10 and 2022-04-11
