2018 Winterization
- Electrical:
- Charge batteries fully. 2018-11-27
- 5W mini-solar panel connected to aft battery. Works. Voltage rose from 12.3 on the LiDiVi to 12.5 over the course of about 90 minutes. 2018-12-05
- Engine:
- Changed engine oil (Shell Rotella T
15W40, 2 quarts) and filter (Yanmar) 2018-11-27
- Changed transmission oil (SAE 30, about 1/3 quart) 2018-11-27
- Propylene glycol run through heat exchanger. 2018-11-27.
- Raw water strainer and basket cleaned and removed from engine to prevent the propylene glycol from damaging the plastic 2018-11-27.
- Removed impeller from raw water pump; tied impeller to pump housing. 2018-12-18
- Removed fan belts from engine, set them on the salon table. 2018-12-18
- General:
- Brought the v-berth cushions home. 2018-11-08
- Brought salon cushions home. 2018-11-20
- Pumped fresh water tank dry. 2018-11-20
- Added one gallon of propylene glycol to the fresh water tank and pumped till only propylene glycol come out of the spigot. 2018-11-20
- Docklines, fenders, throwable floation devices, and four pack of life jackets stored on starboard sette against forward bulkhead. 2018-12-05
- Bilge pump turned off. 2018-12-05
- Dodger and awning in basement bedroom. 2018-11-27
- Winter cover set up on the boat and mini solar panel removed. 2018-12-10
- Tied padding in between Garhauer jib blocks and winter cover. 2018-12-18
- Head:
- Pumped out holding tank. 2018-11-08
- Rinsed holding tank with two gallons of fresh water and pumped out. 2018-11-08
- Filled head and hoses with one-half gallon of propylene glycol. 2018-11-08
- Hull:
- Scrapped barnacles from propeller and aft edge of rudder. Hull almost completely free of barnacles. Literal, less than ten on the PCA Gold
painted hull.
- Sails and Running Rigging:
- Brought the original spinnaker home. 2018-11-08 Returned to boat on 2018-12-05.
- Removed jib and mainsail 2018-11-27
- "Original" genoa, mainsail, and spinnaker stored in v-berth. 2018-12-05
- Main, genoa, and spinnaker from Interrupt stored at home. 2018-11-27
- Tied down jib furler upper swivel so that it can't be sky'ed. 2018-11-27
- Mainsail cover in basement bedroom. 2018-11-27
- Replaced main halyard with red 2mm halyard leader

- Replaced jib halyard with black 2mm halyard leader
