2021 Winterization
- Engine:
- Changed engine oil (Shell Rotella T
15W40, 1.5 quarts, need another half quart) and filter (Yanmar) 2021-11-17
- Ran engine after changing oil and coolant to verify. Needed an ounce or two more coolant after running. 2021-11-17
- Propylene glycol run through heat exchanger. 2021-11-17
- Raw water strainer and basket cleaned and removed from engine to prevent the propylene glycol from damaging the plastic. Plastic body and wire strainer in sink. 2021-11-18
- Two raw water pump bolts (12mm heads) removed, greased, and replaced loosely. 2021-11-18
- Removed impeller from raw water pump; impeller in sink. 2021-11-18
- Removed fan belts from engine, set them on the salon table. 2021-11-18
- Sails and Running Rigging:
- All unbent sails brought home. 2021-11-18
- Replaced main halyard with 1/4" dacron polyester rope (red whippings). 2021-11-18
- Replaced spinnaker halyard with 1/4" dacron polyester rope (green whippings). 2021-11-18
- Replaced spinnaker topping lift and foreguy with 1/4" dacron polyester rope (white whippings). 2021-11-18
- Removed reefing lines, reefing hardware, spinnaker sheets. Main, lines, and hardware in mailsail bag. Genoa, lines, and hardward in genoa bag. Spinnaker, lines, and hardware in spinnaker bag. 2021-11-18
- Mainsail cover on top of mainsail bag. 2021-11-18
- Battens and outhaul with mainsail in its bag. 2021-11-18
- Tied down jib furler upper swivel so that it can't be sky'ed. 2021-11-18
- Electrical:
- Charge batteries fully. 2021-11-18
- General:
- Brought salon cushions home. 2021-11-17
- Brought v-berth cushions home. 2021-11-12
- Pumped fresh water tank dry. 2021-11-17
- Bilge pump turned off. 2021-11-18
- Docklines, fenders, throwable floation devices, and four pack of life jackets stored in v-berth. 2021-11-26
- Head:
- Removed plug from aft side of the base of the head to fully drain the bowl. 2021-11-18
